I'm not particularly happy with how quickly prescription are completed and sent to the pharmacy. We have been encouraged to use the nhs app to get repeat prescriptions and this is supposed to take 48 hours. All too often this takes much longer and multiple times i have been left without medication. Or i have had to call the surgery to chase the prescription which defeats the purpose of using the app. This needs to improve.

Although the doctor had a mild and misplaced superiority complex, she made an excellent diagnosis. The problem could have been spotted by a pharmacist who was thrown by the absence of certain symptoms. Maybe the practice should work with local pharmacies to improve diagnosis of common harmless conditions.

The whole explanation of your symptoms to the receptionist is really embarrassing. The doctor can sometimes be rude and insensitive. Compassion would go along way as well as taking us at our word how much pain we are in and how we feel.

Feedback on Wick Health Centre GP Surgery I find my GP surgery to be very good and consistently reliable. The staff are excellent, professional, and always approachable. i have been suffering with ectopic hypotension for a very long time, and i’ve been going to the gp very often. they have been extremely helpful every single time trying to figure out the source of the issue. even though it is something that is rare they have been doing there absolute best to help me. all the doctors have especially marta. whenever i needed a sick note they were always supportive about it and helped me. would never change for another GP whatsoever. they are extremely welcoming and helpful. thank you for all your services

The doctors take time to listen. There is a sense of patience and care combined together. There is also the sense that careful consideration is given to my concerns and there is no rush to prescribe but to first get to the bottom of the problem by eliminating various possibilities.

I do not feel listened to or that I am taken seriously. I’ve been offered a PA when I’ve requested a doctor. I’ve sent requests that have gone completely unanswered. However, front of house staff are friendly and nice.

Made sure the appointment is on time. The online system is very good. The children system is poor for doctors should make home visits when the child is ill. Otherwise a video consultation should be acceptable. Receptionist/administration system is good.

As usual: the phone is answered only for the receptionist to shout "please hold" before putting you on hold immediately. The receptionist was unsympathetic, showed no empathy, and was brusque and impatient The online only referral system is ridiculous. I know I need to see a doctor about an ongoing, debilitating, worrying condition. The move to "you have to fill a form out online and someone will get back to you" is so, so poor. I was told they'd look at it same day - the form, of course, says someone will read it "within 2 days". Why can't you just let us book appointments with the receptionist? How is this system better for the patient? Who does it help?? Appalling service all round, as usual.

I think the service is great, I get booked in quickly when needing to be seen. My issues are always referred reletively promptly and staff are nice. I would say to improve I would like to be seen by the same staff not always a locum or someone knew each time for the same issue. And I have been given false information before - staff aren’t always trained up as much as they should be on specific issues and instead of making things up or saying something factually incorrect they should just admit they don’t know.

Getting appointments is not easy, though I know it’s like that across other practices. I wouldn’t want to recommend largely based on the fact my mother was left on highest dose of Tramadol for over 10 years, without being told the risks involved. It was only when she was prescribed another medication & her bloods came back showing her Kidneys wasn’t doing too well, that they even thought about the implications of long term use of Tramadol. It was only when she requested to start weaning herself off and try other options that they saw her Kidney function improve. It’s really difficult to recommend a practice that doesn’t seem to take medication reviews seriously.

I love the process of booking same day appointments. The practice is always prompt with calling me back. When I visit the security guys who sits on the entrance to the building is always so friendly says hello and is so welcoming. To be fair there’s also another black lady who sometimes sits there who is also so smiley and welcoming. Most of the team are prompt with referrals, they’ve always taken my concerns seriously and sent for further testing when I’ve requested it. I like when there’s no delay to a referral being made. The only down side would be when it’s constantly a locum and not someone I know seeing me (although this is not always an issue) I would prefer to be seen by the same gps and not someone new every single time. Some are better than others in terms of experience, I have been given wrong advance in the past and I do not like when I am told to go to wellstreet for an appointment instead of wick.

I have recommended this practice to all friends and family and a lot of my friends are now patients at the surgery and neighbours… Dr Osen and his staff run an efficient and community based practice and Dr Osen has great empathy and patience… I would always recommend to everyone..

Fare too much problems with higher up members of staff not knowing there job. Even after bringing in the Ombudsman problems with this organisation still continue. If I could I would must definitely change this practice and get the hell away from the like of a Mr Noland

Before I felt my worries were taken seriously but now, I feel de oposite. Many times I feel dismissed, that I am overreacting or being too worried and/or not listened to. Unfortunately we are a family with many medical needs and I am there many times every month. Lately I have felt that they are tired to see us, but trust me, I wish we didn’t have to go to the doctor as much as we do and under any circumstances we should be make to feel like that. I understand there are overbooked and short of staff because I worked on the health sector too. But it is not an excuse to makes us feel that way.

It's the best GP surgery I know of, and i am not the only one who says just that. I know of several people who were unhappy with their GP surgery and send them to Wick Health and they are happy also low. It starts from the phone all at the reception which are very helpful (never presumptuous or odd).. All the way seeing someone. Incredible service. Thanks

Love the way you can always get an apt on thr day you call. Only down side is sometimes you have to wait a bit for prescription if you don't see a gp that can sign thr prescription off. Sometimes have to chase for call backs

I recently transferred to this GP practice after a very disappointing experience with my previous one. In contrast my experience with this new practice has been nothing short of outstanding. I completed my NHS registration on Saturday and by Monday morning I was fully registered. Their responsiveness and efficiency our worlds apart from what I had come to expect elsewhere. This level of service makes a huge difference especially when dealing with health concerns. I'm genuinely grateful for the prompt care and professionalism shown by this practice, especially the Admin Team and Dr Chen. Thank you for restoring my confidence in primary care.

Every time I asked to see a doctor they would give me someone new. This is not good for someone with ongoing problems as you have 10 minutes to explain your history and the problem which is not possible. This leads to misdiagnoses or no diagnoses at all due to them not knowing my history.

The wick Health Centre is a very good Gp. Surgery. All Doctors and nurses are highly professional, competent, compassionate and kind. Both the admin and domestic staffs are wonderful people.
