GP letters for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Employment and Support Allowance
We are unable to provide letters of support
When you apply for PIP or ESA, the DWP will usually contact your GP or healthcare professional to ask for medical information. This is used as part of your claim.
Because of this, we do not provide extra supporting letters. The information we would include is normally already shared with the DWP in their report. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you feel it would help your claim, you can ask for a copy of your medical records. To do this, please contact the practice and we will explain how to request them. There is no charge for this.
